Mission Statement

MMG's mission is to empower the working musicians of South Mississippi by providing tailored macro management and a support system to help them build a sustainable, consistent career. MMG specializes in securing quality gigs, both local and travel dates, as well as facilitating music production and releases, and offering strategic consultation to guide musicians in making informed decisions that expand their reach and build long term success. Our goal is to help the working musicians of Mississippi thrive in their craft, prioritize steady growth, build a community, and make a living doing what they love.

The MMG Team

By the working musician, for the working musician.

I won't beat around the bush, this is a one man operation. I have 10+ years of working in the Mississippi music scene under my belt, and I want to share the knowledge I've picked up along the way. If you submit to be a MMG artist, I will review your submission and formulate a plan for how my services could be of use to you, based on your individual situation. Working musicians' needs vary greatly based on a number of factors, so that means that I will be tailoring my services to YOU.

Getting More (and better) Work

This part is pretty straight forward - I am a booking agent. I have been booking gigs for myself and for other people for all of my career, and I have amassed a rather large contact book. I want to put that experience to work for YOU.

Want to play more local shows with your band? Want to take your band on the road? Want to get more acoustic restaurant gigs? If you are willing to put in the work, I am willing to help you make it happen.

Maybe you're feeling burnt out from playing the same circuit of gigs month after month. Let's find out if we can broaden your horizons and reignite that fire that playing music should always give you!

Community Building

It's not social media, and that's a good thing.

Often times musicians can get drowned out by the algorithms and the endless barrage of posts on platforms like Facebook or Instagram, and while those tools have their purpose, it can be hard to get all of your best content organized and in  one place in an easy to read format, which is what most venues are looking for when you send them a booking request.

I want to help you build an EPK, a simple, clean, and straightforward design that would be housed here on this site, an EPK that you can share with anyone and everyone who is curious about your music to make sure you're putting your best foot forward.

The goal, as this roster grows, would be to have an online dinner menu of sorts, where listeners or potential talent buyers can scroll through and discover the wealth of talent here in south Mississippi.

OR- maybe YOU are looking for a collaboration?

Oh no! It's Thursday, and your regular guitar player just called to tell you she has the flu, and she won't be able to make your gig Friday night. Wouldn't it be cool if you had a resource that allowed you to browse a selection of local guitarists profiles, find a great match, and get their contact info?

And sure, you could use Facebook for that, but what about the people who you haven't made friends with yet?

MMG's online musicians roster could be an incredible resource for the musicians of south Mississippi and beyond.

Getting Heard

Are you sitting on a batch of songs that you are ready for the world to hear? Are you unsure about how to get the ball rolling? Maybe you have your album recorded, but you aren't sure if it's ready to go.

Releasing music can seem like a daunting task. What studio should I use? How is my mix? Is mastering important? How do I set up an album release campaign? Are physical copies worth the money? I have asked myself these same questions (and still occasionally do.)

Talking to someone who has done it before is a big help and a great first step. All MMG artists will be offered access to consultation about how to move forward with their next release. I may not have all of the answers but I've walked these same roads, and I can help to guide you towards making better, more informed decisions.

Working Musicians Matter

To tie this all together, let me just say that I really believe in the working musicians of Mississippi. We are the inheritors of a rich history of music as a craft, and we have a lot more music and soul to offer to the world. I want to see our community grow, and this is my way of helping to stimulate that growth.

If being a part of the MMG experiment sounds like something you'd like to explore, reach out to me by filling out the artist submission form found on the CONTACT page.
